Please Sponsor Me!

I'm sure many of you will know but I'm due to be doing a parachute jump on easter bank holiday monday. Believe me I'm not doing this because I want to but because I thought it would be a good idea to help us raise money for a fantastic project in Zambia. There are 8 of us jumping and we're all raising money for Mutende Children's Village in the north of Zambia. I visited Mutende at easter last year and as I can't afford to go back this year I'm desperate to raise as much money as i possibly can. Along with the parachute jump and other fundraising events we are hoping to get £15000 to pay for the next phase of building work at the orphange. I've set my sights on raising £1000. There's no pressure but this is a super good cause and if you can sponsor me even just a pound I'd love you all the more for it.

If you do want to sponsor me then please email me at tim_oakes25@hotmail.com and if not just add me to your msn (only if you're interesting or good looking though!)

If you want to find out more about mutende there is a link to their website about two inches to the right.

Zambia is in the bottom 20 coutries with the lowest GDP per capita. It's on about $800, compared to a world average of $8,200, and Luxemburg at no.1 with $55,100.

1 in 80,000 jumps results in fatality! I was hoping for something near 1 in 50,000,000 but hey the things you do!

I see what you've done their Scriv! I was thinking about getting one and now you've put me in this position I'll have to say yes. You pay me £10 to help house little africans and I'll clean up my shopping habits - it's a deal.

  • At 7:52 pm, March 12, 2006, Blogger Tim Lovell said…

Thats one heck of a bad deal there Timmy me old mucker. You get a tenner, then have to fork out hundreds of extra pounds through your life just to enable some stinking hippies to keep smoking their weed! You've been done like a kipper.

I think you should get more in people's face about it. Try to show some starving little Africans, then go on everyones blog and send them a virus, until they either pay, or give an acceptable reason as to why they aren't going to pay.

For me, I can't afford to coz I've got LITERALLY no money. I'm actually borrowing money now. Anyone got a grand I could have- no joke.

The starving, dying children has been done. If that worked on people they'd be giving all their money to oxfam and not me anyway.

Scriv - you didn't tell anyone how much you were giving so you're still humble in my eyes. I was merely exploiting you as an example to everyone else!

  • At 1:19 pm, March 13, 2006, Blogger Tim said…

Scriv I've just realised how rude you've been to everyone else - you've suggested that only me and you can work out 5+5! Are you saying that Mr Lovell & Ben can't even work that out?!

Do you mean why didn't I come to the Jazz club? Well I've got uni work coming out of my ears so I was in hospital having a doctor pull it all out. Not really but I just have too much work on at the moment plus I probably couldn't afford it. Glad I was missed!

As soon as I arrived Tina said, 'Isn't Tim with you?'
Me (panicked), 'Is he supposed to be?'
    Tina, 'Yes.'
    Me, 'Aaaah, I didn't know!'

You missed an excellent night, the best I've been to (which isn't many).

Tina's so melodramatic! I said to her that I didn't want to turn up on my own and so I'd probably get in touch with you and pick you up or something. Never mind I'm sure there will be many more opportunites to enjoy Jazz!
